Summary
Tiny House can be constructed on site as a permanent dwelling unit in accordance with the current adopted Building Codes. Routt County Regional Building Department (RCBD) reviews permit applications in accordance with the 2018 International Residential Building Code and the recently adopted Appendix Q from the 2018 IRC to allow additional design options for tiny homes. (Resolution No. 2020 – Page 7: https://co.routt.co.us/DocumentCenter/View/11250/Resolution-No-2020-067Amending-Restating-Building-Codes) (PLEASE NOTE: Since this is a recent change, some documentation will still mention IRC 2015.)
