Sitka Mulls Joining Tiny House Movement Dec. 21st, 2019
SITKA, Alaska (AP) — Sitka is considering getting into the tiny home movement.
The Daily Sitka Sentinel reports the Sitka Planning Commission got its first look Wednesday at how city code could be amended to make room for tiny houses, specifically those on chassis allowing the structures to be moved.

I would like to return to the Council to focus on housing issues in our City, I particularly want to see changes to the Zoning Ordinance to encourage the development of housing that people in our community can afford. I think this can be facilitated by looking into the concept of Accessory Dwelling Units on existing lots, The Concept of Tiny Homes for lots that have room to add a dwelling and still met the setback requirements of the Code.
