Summary
This PENDING ordinance (TC-6-21 Tiny Houses) allows as a permitted use Tiny Houses up to 600 sf in size in all residential and some mixed-use zoning districts as permanent single-dwelling units. It also calls for the use of Tiny Houses in Cottage Courts (in all zones except R-1 and DX) as well as Accessory Dwelling Units.
This ordinance is PENDING text change to the Unified Development Ordinance (Supp. No. 14 – Published October, 2021). On October 26, 2021, the Planning Commission unanimously voted to recommend tiny houses. For more information, see Text Change Cases.
