Summary

From Facebook: On March 14th 2023 the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors passed new zoning code that allows each county property, that doesn’t already have an ADU, to add a mobile unit to their property.
Under the new code, the property owner will need to provide water, electric and septic connections and a space for the unit.
The unit can be a Tiny House, Park Model, RV, Mobile Home or a Manufactured Home.
The permit is good for one year – but it is renewable yearly.
Under the new code Tiny House owners can rent a space and utilities from property owners who have installed the proper infrastructure and obtained a permit.
Alternately, property owners can provide a Tiny House or other mobile unit for renters. This new option is way more affordable than building a traditional ADU so hopefully more property owners will exercise this new option. The new code goes into effect on April 15, 2023.
