Summary
January 1, 2020 was the statewide effective date established by the California Building Standards Commission (CBSC) for the 2019 California Building Standards Code (CA Code of Regs, Title 24) which adopts the 2018 editions of IBC, IFC, IRC and IEBC with amendments, including Appendix Q – Tiny Houses.
All occupancies in California are subject to national model codes adopted into Title 24, and occupancies are further subject to amendments adopted by state agencies and ordinances implemented by local jurisdictions’ governing bodies.
